Mia Melanie Saar is an artist who is not afraid of colors or intense emotions and is reimaging the world around her through naive characters and absurdly surrealist scenes. It doesn’t really matter if it is a meaningful childhood memory or an everyday moment – she has a one of a kind ability to bring those moments back to life on a canvas.
Art heaven in the heart of South-Estonia
In addition to her work as an artist, Mia Melanie Saar is also a co-founder of a gallery built in an old barn in her homestead near Otepää which is bringing together archaic architecture and modern art.
In 2025 they opened a new part of the gallery that is dedicated to modern Estonian art. The first exhibition in the new gallery space is called “Dolce far niente” and it features works of 13 young Estonian painters and photographers.
